What is a Reiki session like?

Before the session, you will have the opportunity to ask any Reiki-related questions and to describe your hopes for the session. During the session you will recline, fully clothed, on a zero-gravity chair. * Reiki energy will then be shared through a series of hand positions held over the body for around 2 to 5 minutes each. Your role during the session will simply be to relax and be open to the experience.

*Other seating options are available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can learn to use Reiki?

Anyone can learn to use Reiki. It is passed on from a Reiki Master Teacher to students through practical instruction and through an attunement process that reinforces and develops an innate ability that we all share.

What can be treated with Reiki?

Reiki alleviates pain and stress and promotes restful sleep, healing and relaxation. Relaxation promotes a heightened sense of well being, release of muscle tension, and relief from anxiety and depression. In addition, relaxation has been shown to help restore immune function and improve circulation, enhancing healing throughout your body.

What is Reiki?

Coming from Japanese, “Rei” is translated as “Universal or Divine Wisdom” and “Ki” means “energy” (the Japanese version of the Chinese term “Chi”). Together, these words define a system of energy medicine that shifts the body from the fight-or-flight mode to a restorative mode (the parasympathetic nervous system) that encourages relaxation and healing.

"Rieki is a safe, gentle, non-intrusive hands-on healing technique for use on yourself or with others, which uses spiritual energy to treat physical ailments without using pressure, manipulation, or massage; however, it is much more than a physical therapy. It is a holistic system for balancing, healing and harmonizing all aspects of the person - body, mind, emotions and spirit - and it can also be used to encourage personal and spiritual awareness and growth."
